Wood products made from Accoya^®

Accoya^® is one of the most durable modified woods and is obtained from Pinus radiata from certified forestry. The acetylation process gives the material exceptionally high dimensional stability and a particularly stable structure that is resistant to weathering.

In the field of window scantlings, Accoya® is available as pure scantlings or in combination with spruce or pine. It is available as vertical / semi vertical grain scantlings.

Accoya® is characterised by its technical properties and is therefore particularly suitable for components that must remain permanently precise and dimensionally stable.

Possible applications and advantages in window construction

Accoya^® has a falling structure in which natural colour nuances and so-called slat stripes can occur. Through acetylation, Accoya® achieves a durability that corresponds to that of high-quality hardwoods. Its high dimensional stability and consistent technical quality make the wood a suitable choice for windows, doors and façade elements.

The sustainable origin of the raw material and its long service life contribute to an ecologically advantageous overall balance. In combination with spruce or pine, scantlings are produced that combine the stability advantages of modification with the proven properties of native woods.

The cover layers have a minimum thickness of 22 mm. Due to the modification, the wood has a very low tendency to swell and shrink, which makes it particularly suitable for demanding window constructions.
