Belmadur®
Belmadur is an innovative wood modification technology. By this modification the characteristics of the wood are noticeably improved.
Properties
- Highest biological durability class: sapwood 1, heartwood 1 - 2
- Belmadur is not a biocide and non-toxic for microorganisms; Belmadur modified wood is simply not longer available as a food source for fungi and insects
- Significantly reduced swelling and shrinking
- Windows smoothly open and close under changing climate conditions
- Corner joints are less prone to stresses and do not cause consecutive deterioration of the coating system
- Coating systems recommended for application in windows prove to be more stable against weathering, exhibit improved surface quality and increased coating adhesion
- Manufactured from domestic wood (Pine Pinus sylvestris)
- No negative impact on climate and environment compared to wood imports from other continents
- PEFC and FSC certification upon request
Informations for users
- Coatings systems recommended for use with pinewood in window applications are also the choice for use with Belmadur modified pine
- Corner joints can be glued with currently used adhesive systems
- Belmadur modified wood is compatible with all components used in window applications
- Fittings - Screws - Silicone - Seals
- Compared to pine, Belmadur modified wood initially has a slightly darker color. After a few weeks of UV exposure the color of Belmadur modified wood is the same as pinewood
The Belmadur® Technology creates a reliable, sustainable source of wood supplying window manufacturers with constant high-quality products from Münchinger
Product range
- All standard dimensions are available as laminated glued-bar and cut stock
- Future supply with pine (Pinus sylvestris) is guaranteed
- Available also as finger-jointed material; with one, two or three lamellas of Belmadur modified wood; and/or in combination with other species
Our commitment: As much as needed. As little as possible. Reliability / durability where you need it. |

Process
Impregnation

Wood is completely soaked with Belmadur by impregnation in a vacuum pressure process.
Curing

By curing the impregnated wood in a special kiln, permanent cross-linking and bonding of Belmadur in the wood cell structure takes place. Modified wood leaves the kiln and is ready to be used and further processed.
Belmadur modified wood is manufactured at Münchinger's own production sites and marketed under the trade name Mb-Kantel. The quality is constantly monitored and audited by third parties.
